Omdat 400 jaar geleden de Nederlanders voor een paar spiegeltjes Nieuw Amsterdam van de Indianen hebben “gekocht”, is er op vrijdag 27 november 2009 een verzoeningsceremonie geweest.
Hierbij heeft een protestante kerk z’n excuses aangeboden aan de Indianen. Gebruikelijk bij deze Indianen ceremonies is dat er geschenken (vaak kralen) worden uitgewisseld.
Hiervoor heeft Rev. Robert Chase bij Made in Holanda een Delfts blauwe Bijouxtiful halsketting gekocht. Deze heeft dus een belangrijke rol gespeeld op deze dag.
